2pm – The White Review: On Arts Criticism
In October 2017, literary and arts quarterly The White Review breaks into art criticism for the first time, running three reviews of new exhibitions on its website each month. Editors Rosanna Mclaughlin and Izabella Scott join founding editor Ben Eastham and contributing editor Orit Gat to discuss the form and function of the art review, and what role criticism has to play in the contemporary art world.
3.30pm – A Book Launch and Signing: Richard Flood Notes from the Playground
Thomas Dane, Karsten Schubert & Ridinghouse invite you to join them celebrate the launch of Richard Flood's new publication, Notes from the Playground.
Notes from the Playground is a carefully selected anthology of thirty essays by the curator, academic and writer Richard Flood, written over the past 40 years. Drawing from his broad knowledge of history, cinema, literature, poetry, design and architecture, Flood’s writings combine the autobiographical with the theoretical, presenting an intimate understanding of various contemporary artists.
Richard Flood is Director of Special Projects and Curator at Large at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York.
