3.30pm - Proyectos Ultravioleta: Book Launch of Regina José Galindo's Stop Shooting
Join gallery Proyectos Ultravioleta and curator Pablo José Ramírez for a book launch of artist Regina José Galindo’s first ever bilingual book of poetry, Stop Shooting.
Although widely known for her work in performance, Regina José Galindo (Guatemala City, 1974) has long been writing poetry in her native tongue - Spanish. Like her performances, Galindo’s poems are raw, poignant and difficult to bear. However, they are bold affirmations of an artist and writer who has long used her work to denounce many of the injustices affecting her native Guatemala, as well as injustices that affect the world as a whole. Dejen de disparar / Stop Shooting is Galindo’s first ever bilingual book of poetry, and marks the first time that her poems are available to readers in English.
